Happy Mountain – Japanese Landscape2004, felt, pin, polystyrene, 33”x192”x144” Happy Mountain - Japanese Landscape was the deconstruction of the images of Japanese military camouflage recreated and reassembled by felt on a mountain that was based on the topological map of Mt. Fuji in Japan. It questioned how the military power functioned as a national identity beyond individuals. It also investigated the tension between the individual and the group as a whole by considering an individual conflict of a soldier. |
